CNN —USA Basketball unveiled the player roster Wednesday for the men’s team that will compete in the 2024 Paris Olympics. The team will be anchored by Los Angeles Lakers forward LeBron James, making his fourth appearance after skipping the past two Olympics. This will be the 36-year-old Curry’s first Olympic Games, making him the fifth player to represent the Warriors at an Olympics with Team USA. The US team will hold a training camp and exhibition games in Las Vegas in July, before traveling to Paris. The Opening Ceremony for the 2024 Paris Olympics will take place on July 26 with men’s basketball play beginning the following day.

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Joel Embiid has been re-evaluated by doctors and they are “happy with the progress” the 76ers center is making following meniscus surgery on his left knee, Philadelphia head coach Nick Nurse said Saturday. “I think there’s always stages of how these things progress,” Nurse said before the Sixers faced the Charlotte Hornets. Embiid's status has been a source of speculation with an expected team medical update never coming on the re-evaluation after the Feb. 6 surgery. Embiid, who celebrated his 30th birthday on Saturday, has missed 21 games since tearing the meniscus against Golden State on Jan. 30. In the time since, Philadelphia has fallen from third in the Eastern Conference to eighth, going 7-13 in the 20 games leading into Saturday.

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Philadelphia 76ers team president Daryl Morey expressed optimism on Friday that reigning NBA MVP Joel Embiid would return from a knee injury in time for a possible postseason run. “We're hopeful,” Morey said before the 76ers hosted the Atlanta Hawks and three days after Embiid underwent surgery on his left knee. CNN —Philadelphia 76ers superstar Joel Embiid is set to undergo surgery to deal with a left knee issue, the team announced on Sunday. “Joel Embiid will have a corrective procedure this week to address an injury to the lateral meniscus in his left knee. Embiid has spent time out of the Philadelphia lineup this season as result of persistent injury issues and has missed 14 out of the 76ers’ 48 games. The Cameroonian was recently named to his seventh career All-Star team, but it appears that he will miss this month’s festivities in Indianapolis.
